Asian Paediatric Formulation Initiative (APFi)

APFi was established in Dec 2025 at the Asian Federation of Pharmaceutical Sciences Conference in Sydney. At the conference, an inaugural forum was held where panel speakers and participants agreed that an APFi would be helpful to create awareness and facilitate collaboration in making better medicines available for children across the Asia-Pacific region.

Co-chairs for APFi are Prof Lee Yong Lim (University of Western Australia) and Prof Pornsak Sriamornsak (Silpakorn University).

APFi’s broad objective is to provide a platform to advance safe and age-appropriate paediatric medicinal formulations in the Asia-Pacific region. It aims to bring together academia, hospital pharmacies, medicinal compounding facilities, pharmaceutical manufacturers and regulatory agencies to work in a collaborative environment to expedite the development of better medicines for children.
